And if you love it, then please share with your friends :-) ![]() Known for not only its breathtaking natural beauty, the island of St. Lucia commands the attention of the thrill seeking & adventurous. Like the island’s ancient inhabitants, learning about the place by foot is one, if not, the best way to capture the essence of the island’s culture and storied past. With the first known climbing attempts done by runaway slaves whose remnants (Still remain atop the mountain and the surrounding area beneath the base they made home) can be appreciated by the hundreds who attempt the climb monthly. The island’s popular Piton Mountains (Gros & Petit Piton) is also referred to as the island’s trademark. The twin peaks are 771 m & 743 m soaring majestically above the Caribbean Sea. This Gros Piton tour showcases St. Lucia’s incredibly varied landscapes; it is recommended that the climb be done with professional experienced guides. Choosing to continue the exhilarating attempt to the top will reward one with views that’s quite frankly second to none. Isn’t the adventure what ‘travel’ is all about? There are two main routes to get to the top, the most popular and the one done by us is the trail that passes directly through Fond Gens Libre, meaning Village of the Free People. A recent client of ours set their sights on doing the first ever wedding photo shoot atop the piton mountain, they were looking for more than just the tired beach shoot, and although no one knew what the outcome was going to be and chronicling the adventure that unfolded with an uncertain outcome, it turned out being one of the most incredible climbs of their life. It’s also important to mention that this was a Gros Piton Ascent, not the sister peak (Petit Piton) with treacherous slabs of sheer rock that terminate into the Caribbean Sea. After the hike one can opt to visit a waterfall or simply relax and soak in the volcano mud pools, after all it's the entire adventure & exploration that makes this on of the best things to do in St. Lucia. ![]() When to Visit St Lucia With its tropical climate, St Lucia is a beautiful place to be almost all year long. There are many cocoa farms located across the island, and they have much to offer for both the island's locals and for the people around the world who get to enjoy the benefits of the cocoa grown on the island. There are four primary types of cocoa grown on St. Lucia. The first is Criollo which is one of the highest maintenance forms of cocoa. It is very fine in quality and has a distinct aroma.
